If you are planning on building a Revell 1/25 scale model Bronco, then you will want to read this whole post. I have uncovered a vast array of aftermarket parts to make your model more realistic.
For a long time, Bronco owners wondered why no one made a 1/24-1/25 scale model of the classic Bronco.
There were a couple of companies that made resin body kits, that required other kits to complete (using a Scout or Jeepster model kit??).
These kits were not the best, they were not accurate nor complete, one of the kits used leaf springs for the front axle...but it was all we had for a while
Sometime around 2015 or so, Revell came out with a 1/25 scale plastic model of the classic Bronco.
The kit came with a Stroppe style roll bar and double shocks, alluding to what was coming next, the Stroppe Baja Bronco
Then they produced a 1/2 Cab pickup style with a VW powered off-road race buggy/sand rail
Now we finally had a kit that was mostly accurate and complete.
It didn't take long for the aftermarket model parts suppliers to begin making parts for them.
We'll start with a Baja Bronco kit from Fireball Model Works, it allows you to convert the standard Bronco kit into a very accurate Baja Bronco (we'll discuss this later). All of the parts are available separately as well
next we'll look at lift kits:
Bolide Plastic Motor Works offers this upgrade kit which includes a 3" lift, 32" tires, winch bumper and gas cans, see it here
Olson Brothers used to offer several lift kit options, including the one below, a 5.5" scale lift with long radius arms
The kit also includes the aftermarket front shock hoop and more realistic looking springs. They also offer it in a 3.5" lift.
This is the complete 3.5" lift from Fireball Model Works, it is complete with longer shocks and springs
There are also body lift kits available, this one was from Olson Brothers, it comes in 1" and 2" scale lifts
Fireball offers this 2" body lift kit
