Here we have a real gem, a very rare Bronco.
Those in the know recognize this from the title of this post. Let me explain for those that don't know. The first 200 Broncos body tubs were built by Budd & Company, an outside contractor who assisted Ford on the design. Those first 200 were split between the three body style options, the Roadster, the Wagon and the 1/2 cab pick-up.
There were only 4,090 roadster built in 1966, making them rare, but of those only a handful were Budd Body roadsters.
A previous owner installed doors (from a later vintage Bronco) and a Kelly steel wagon top, roll bar, floor shifter and fender flares.
The dash is also incorrect, it should be painted gray, but it may have been swapped out along with the seats which appear to be from a Mustang.
We can see the original color was Carribean Turquoise, hopefully someone is going to restore this rare Bronco.
