Throwback Thursday: When Broncos were new

When Ford thought they had what would be a success, they brought out the press to an event to look, touch, drive the new Ford Bronco. This first set of pictures come from the summer of 1965.

In June of 1965, Motor Trend magazine was asked to test the vehicle at the Detroit Testing Grounds

In August Ford began running ads for the new Bronco, Ford ran one- and two-page full color adverts in magazines (a big deal in 1965)

Here is one ad from French Canada, check out the paint on the grill, it follows the "eyebrows"

Ford also offered factory upgrades for both professionals planning to use the Bronco for work and for recreationalists wanted extra comfort or tools.

Bronco of the Day: CFB The Anderson

Todays Bronco of the day is another build by the team at Classic Ford Broncos. They call this one "The Anderson".

They started with a 1975 Bronco.

Standard equipment included the 302 engine that was hopped up, a C4 automatic and D44 upfront with the Ford 9" in the rear. Power steering and power disc brakes were probably factory upgrades.

The exterior wears fender flares front and rear and the paint is Dodge Viper Blue with a factory Bronco stripe kit. The rig sits on a slight lift with 33" BFG All-Terrain tires.

The interior has been upgraded with new leather seats and panels along with a Smittybilt style roll bar.

and another X-mas card from Mr. Cheney

This picture really reminds me of those trips we took to the mountains to go snowmobiling in my Father's Bronco....except for the train tracks of course

A picture of Santa himself, testing the feasibility of using a Classic Bronco to deliver presents in lieu of reindeer

A Classic Bronco delivering the tree and presents

A Classic Bronco snowed in...

I had to throw this one in here...

We'll finish with this year's Christmas Card from Tom Cheney
