Black Broncos

We'll kick off All Hallow's Eve with some black Broncos.

Starting with a nice looking Bronco that uses gloss black paint, orange accessories (including Ranger stripes) and clear LED lenses for a very clean look.

Bronco Barn Finds: 1970 Sport Wagon

What we have here is a mostly complete, mostly stock 1970 Bronco U-15 Sport Wagon, the color is most likely Yucatan Gold or possibly New Lime Green, hard to tell.

Other than aftermarket hubs, modern plastic mirrors and 70's shag carpeting, it looks bone stock.

These Broncos are still out there folks, you gotta go and find them and save them.

Bronco of the Day: Zombie Green '66

Todays Bronco du Jour is a lime green 1966 from Arizona.

As some you may know the 1966 model was the first production year for the Bronco and most of the sought-after options were not available yet. Things like a V-8 motor, automatic transmission, Dana 44 front end, power steering, power disc brakes....those were still on the horizon in 1966.

So anyone building a 1966 into an off-road warrior is basically starting from scratch.......mechanically speaking.

This classic Bronco has had the works done to it, for the motor he chose a Mustang 5.0 liter roller motor backing it up with a C-4 automatic transmission.

A late model Dana 44 with disc brakes was swapped in place of the Dana 30 and supplied with 4.10 gears and an ARB air locker.

Out back a 31 spline 9" was installed, also with disc brakes and a locker, only this one is a Detroit.

A 2WD F-150 steering box was installed for the power steering along with the 1-ton Chevy tie rod set-up, mounted to the top of the knuckles for added clearance.

A James Duff 4.5" suspension lift and fender flares provide room for the 37" Toyo Open Country M/T tires.

The owner added some fiberglass 1/2 door inserts and rock sliders/nerf bars and a fiberglass "High County" hood.

Then the rig was painted in the 2013 Mustang "I Gotta Have It Green" (not actually "Zombie" green) and matte black.

The interior features a custom dash, Ididit steering column, custom seats and a dash with just the necessary gauges and switches
