Barn Finds: 1971 Diamond Blue Wagon

How about a feel-good story in the middle of winter? This diamond blue 1971 Bronco wagon was found in a garage. The buyer wasn't sure what condition the Bronco was in until after they washed it.

Turns out the Bronco will be a very easy restoration, with virtually no rust, the Bronco simply needs a repaint, new upholstery, some resto work on the interior. Then a new tailgate, spare tire carrier and three hubcaps all of which were MIA.
Let's hope the new owner doesn't cut it up.

Bronco of the Day: Gearbox

Todays Bronco of the Day comes from Gear Patrol blog, it is a bit mundane, but has some nice upgrades:

The blog incorrectly lists this "Kubota Orange" Bronco as a 1979, it appears to be a '72-'75 model.

It actually looks like it could have been built by K-Bar-S, based on the Smittybilt roll cage, fiberglass hood with the Duff bubble, 4 speed top-loader transmission and the front bumper, which I don't think they ever sold in their catalogs.

It has the older 9" rear housing and the Dana 44 up front, it also has the newer dash, so I will guess at 1975 as the model year.

Anyway it has an Edelbrock plenum on the Ford 5.0 liter EFI.

The body features molded in fender flares and custom bumpers were added front and rear.

Working Broncos Part 5

We'll start with this vintage photo of a U14 1/2 cab being used at a golf course

It seems the most popular job for classic Broncos was plowing snow.
