Bronco Barn Finds: 1973 Baja Bronco

This perhaps the best preserved and unmolested Baja Broncos ever.

It was posted on the Classic Broncos web forum

The description from the seller:

1973 Baja Bronco by Stroppe. Standard phase 1 Baja Bronco with dual shocks, US Indy aluminum wheels (the originals), rubberized steering wheel, trailer hitch, padded roll bar, bumper braces, baja decals and tire cover, chrome "Cactus Smasher" push bar without the light tabs. Ford power steering (as opposed to the GM steering box?) and automatic trans.

134K miles, in storage for the last 5 years before being rescued. Has original paperwork from dealer, warranty info/owner's manual in the glove box and the original 1973 California plates with original dealer frames.

Take a close look at the custom rocker guards below, one might dismiss them as an owner modification, but they have been seen on at least one other Baja Bronco

1/25 Scale Bronco Models part 4: Engine Parts

This is part 4 of our series covering aftermarket parts for your 1/25 Revell classic Bronco model build.

A detailed engine compartment separates the skilled model builders from the rest

Replicas and Miniatures Company of Maryland offers these "Power by Ford" valve covers especially for the Revell Bronco kit

Calnaga Castings is offering these M/T finned valve covers for the small block Ford

Calnaga also offers Holley 650 double pumper carbs

Fireball Model Works has you covered in the carb department; they have 'em all

Carter AFB

They have the GM Quadrajet in both Chevy and Buick-Olds-Pontiac configurations

Double pumper Holley

Standard Holley

They even offer a fuel injection kit

Morgan Automotive Detail also has Holley and Carter AFB carbs

If building a tribute and you need long tube headers, VCG Resins by Reese has some that might work for you

Also from VGC Resins is this authentic looking MSD Distributor

And these Edelbrock air cleaner lids

Pro Tech has the parts to make these carbs look realistic

throttle linkage kits

Rubber fuel line:

Then there is the spark plug wires and boots

Don't forget the wire looms

For adding a second battery you could use one of these gel celled units from Calnaga

Another Optima option, this one from VCG Resins by Reese

Parts by Parks offers this kit with radiator hoses, heater hoses and battery cables

While not part of the engine, they usually are attached, is the transmission. The Revell kit comes with a 3-speed manual transmission, which was the most common transmission in classic Broncos, but if you want to build a tribute and need a C-4 automatic, VCG Resins has got what you need

You could decide to go modern and install this Coyote V-8 in your Bronco, I found this on ebay
